Today’s face is a bit of an Illamasqua love-in. In fact, most days with me are. I’ve been going pretty heavy on the lips lately so today I thought I’d give eyes the chance to shine. I joked last week about using blue eyeshadow to bring you something different, and looky here – I’ve done it! This is Aquadisiac by MAC layered on top of a light grey Illamasqua Cream Eye Shadow I snapped up in the sale. It’s either been discontinued or it was a limited edition as I can’t seem to find any eye shadows in this formulation on the website anymore. Aquadisiac was gifted to me by the lovely Steph who felt she wasn’t showing it enough love, so I figured I needed to put it to good use. I brought it under the eye too for an added pop of colour seeing as my eyes are semi-hooded and most of the time most of the lid doesn’t actually get seen. I skipped liner on the top lash line and defined the crease with a little of Faint from the Naked Basics palette. I also added a little MAC Fashion Groupie to the outer corners.
On the cheeks I used the Illamasqua Powder Blusher Duo “Beg/Bronzerella” from the Illamasqua I’mperfection collection. I used the Blush Up Brush to sweep on the bronzer as a cheek contour. That thing is bloody hard to use but I think I’m getting the hang of it now! I finished off with a little L’Oreal Glam Shine Miss Candy Lipgloss in “Nude BonBon”. I really like these glosses for a really simple lip, they’re long wearing and not sticky at all, and this shade is my favourite.
I whacked all this on for absolutely no reason at all as it’s Bank Holiday Monday and I’d already been out for breakfast with friends and to the gym today. But who says you can’t rock a bright eye at home on the sofa, eh? I’d happily wear this look to the office or smoke it up with more purple for a night out, but right now I’m gearing up to eat Coq au Vin and watch the season premier of Game of Thrones… best night ever.
I really enjoyed experimenting with a bright colour after a long winter of neutrals, it makes me excited for the summer! What’s your favourite eyeshadow? Do you like to experiment with brights? I have a post on my favourite ever palettes coming up soon, so make sure you come back to hear about the shades I love best :)
