Win a Wonderbra? Wahey! - Closed

Posted by Lil In Fashion, High Street | 9 Comments »

This giveaway is now closed - stay tuned for the next one!

**

OH HAI NATIONAL CLEAVAGE DAY! Yep, that's right, there really is a day for everything. And bloomin' brilliant that is too because today is the day we can all celebrate our boobs. Why not eh? They're great!

The lovely ladies at Wonderbra have given me a Full Effect Bra to giveaway to one of my fabulous readers. Yes, that's you guys. The Full Effect can boost your cleavage by up to 2 cup sizes, so you can add a little va-va-voom to your outfit whenever you fancy it. And now that Joan Holloway  has returned to our screens, I assure you I am definitely feeling the need for a little va-va-voom.

Full Effect Wonderbra

I love the pretty lace detailing on this bra and word on the street is that you can cross over the straps at the back for a little added  oomph. POW! I own quite a collection of Wonderbras and I'm happy to say that they are one of my favourite lingerie brands. I love the Wonderbras I have for the way they look, but more importantly because the fit is so great and they are incredibly comfortable.

Continuing on a personal note, my bra-life has changed dramatically since I decided to get measured. If you've been reading for a while you'll probably remember that I was wearing a staggering extra 4 inches in the back and my cup size was out by 2. Shocking. Statistics report that up to 85% of women everywhere aren't housing their breasts in the right receptacle. This can lead to neck, back and shoulder ache and it means that misplaced wires and straps can put unnecessary pressure on breast tissue. No one wants that now, do they? Sort it out. And when better? National Cleavage Day of course! You can't count on cleavage if you've not got the right tools.

So here's the deal:

Where better to splash a little cash than to a fantastic cause putting all their time and money into finding a cure for a disease that affects millions women worldwide.

Happy Cleavage Day everyone!

Pull-In Underwear ♥

Posted by Lil In Fashion, High Street | 6 Comments »
You all know I've gone a little bit undie crazy recently. I've been enjoying this lingerie series I've been putting together, so I was super happy to find out about Pull-in, a French underwear brand. Famous for their bold prints, Pull-in have plenty of celeb fans including The Saturdays and Madonna's daughter Lourdes.
I think anything from this range (they do leggings and also boxers for men too) would be a pretty cool gift for someone you know, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to treat myself too! Apparently Pull-in have 12 global concept stores all over the world in cities like LA, New York and Paris. I was surprised at that because I haven't seen it before in UK stores and I know there isn't a store in London. Don't know what's up with that! There are several stockists online though, including Black Leaf and Street Fusion. A pair of knickers retails for just under £20, a bra & knicker set for £53 and mens boxers for just under £30. I'm quickly learning that with underwear you really do get what you pay for. It may be pricey but go cheap and you'll regret it! Sizes range from XXS-L.
Something else: when I found Pull-in I was surprised to hear that all their underwear features a waistband with 10x stretch! Further reading uncovered that it's actually the same material that's used in snow goggles! Sounds pretty comfy to me.
This stuff is so up my street. I love the berries set (pictured top left) and the cupcake knickers (pictured bottom right). The icons set (top right) actually made me laugh out loud. What next eh? I love the pop culture references on Pull-in's range though - the boxers have some absolute corkers! From hotdogs to Superman. I love it.
Thanks to Rebecca at Coffin on Cake PR for hooking me up with this, was sad I couldn't make their Press Day - looks like they're much to my taste :)
Happy Thursday kids!
Just fyi, I wasn't paid for this, I just think Pull-in are cool.

Bigger, Prettier Bras for Less!

Posted by Lil In Fashion, High Street | 4 Comments »

When I did my Bravissimo and Marisota posts about fuller figure lingerie the biggest talking point in the feedback I received was price. It seems the main gripe us fuller chested ladies have is having to part with more money than those whose size is available in more mainstream stores. Not only that, but paying more for plainer or uglier bras is a real bummer.

Finding pretty bras for bigger breasts is possible, but they usually come at a price. In my post last week I mentioned that I'd discovered some value packs online. This sparked some discussion, so today I thought I'd focus the spotlight on JDWilliams who are another online womens clothing catalogue specialising in plus-size clothing in sizes 12-34. Yet again, the plus-size market has come up trumps with their lingerie department.

Value packs are available from just £18 for two bras, which for someone who's used to paying on average £28-40 per bra is pretty exciting news. Breasts can fluctuate in size from month to month so it's important to get measured regularly. Often we might be put off getting remeasured because we know it means spending more money, which - lets face it - we may not have, on new bras. That's why I think these value packs are a great purchase.
And if value packs aren't your thing, well, JDWilliams offer a lot more too, and for very reasonable prices:
L: Millarosa Underwired Bra in Pink Rose £22-26
R: O Lingerie Celine Bandeau Bra in Antique White £26

Together Underwired Midi Bra £38-£44
Plus size or otherwise, where do you buy your lingerie? How have your measuring experiences been? Are you enjoying the lingerie series on A Storm in a Teacup?
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. Views and opinions are still my own. I'm all about cheaper, bigger bras - if you hadn't already noticed!
