I wore this look for a lazy Sunday spent organising my bathroom (you should see it, it’s a neat-freak’s dreeeam!), taking the recycling out and stepping out for a casual coffee at my favourite Leeds spot . The MAC Archie’s Girls collection was a big hit for me and I’ve been using the Veronica’s Blush Beauty Powder and the Veronica lipstick in Daddy’s Little Girl nearly every day since I purchased them. The Beauty Powder stumped me a little at first but now I’ve settled on swooshing it on the apples of my cheeks and sweeping it up toward the temple. It leaves a lovely shimmery pink that’s not too sparkly for everyday wear. Sit tight for a full report on my buys from the collection – I spent the big bucks!
This look, like last week’s, has a decidedly rosey glow and that’s partly down to the pink toned highlighter I used on my inner corner, cheekbones and under the brow bone. I like the look this gives but it means I have to pay special attention to neutralising the red/pink flare ups my skin loves to torture me with. I find the Smashbox Color Correcting Foundation Primer top notch for this. It’s pricey at £25, but its green tinge really dulls any anger in my skin and helps my foundation go on smoother, helping to boost coverage.
About Face will be a regular weekly thing from now on, so I’m going to be doing my best to capture my everyday face-based habits. Although the last 2 looks have been similar, I rarely wear the same products for any length of time so hopefully you’ll see some variety when it comes to eyes, lips and cheeks! Next week electric blue shadow!!… errr, actually, maybe not.
Do you wear the same look everyday when it comes to beauty, or do you like to mix stuff up? Working for myself has made a huge difference in my freedom to play around. The time I spend on my face each day has doubled, and the colours I experiment with are varied too. I have my favourites but nothing sticks around for too long – I’m a fiend when it comes to colour experimentation – nothing is too scary!
