Still mostly based around food (and drinks!) but with a few variables thrown in for good measure. I’m getting pretty handy in the kitchen. I cook pretty much everything from scratch now and this scallop dish was the first time I’d experimented with seafood. The sauce especially was a real triumph and was made with our homemade chicken stock which made it all the more satisfying. When I cook I tend not to follow a recipe (not like when I bake) so I was thinking I might throw a few more food posts up here and see how they go down. Is that something you guys would like to see more of?
Despite all the amazing food I eat I am still battling on with the whole fitness/weight loss thing, hence the yoga mat. There’s an update on that coming later this week. Following that was my trip to Edinburgh and engagement which was obvs pretty exciting. On return from Scotland I arrived home to a pile of birthday presents that had arrived in my absence, including The Porefessional by Benefit which I’ve been after for months and the coveted nude horse stud clutch from ASOS. Matt’s mum and dad had a visit scheduled the week we got back and they arrived with champagne and a balloon in tow which made me smile.
As you may have guessed from my last post, plans for the wedding are already in motion and Matt and I are close to having a venue picked out and booked. With planning comes the obligatory scrapbook, of course, plus a step up in action on ! I’ve bought a few bridal magazines and although a lot of the ideas are a bit traditional for us, I’m still finding some great inspiration re colour schemes, dresses and the little details. Heaven knows you’ll probably be seeing a lot of my wedding scrapbook (s?) over the next year or so :)
If you follow me on Twitter you’ll have experienced a blow by blow account of the run up, but Matt and I hosted a Wine & Cheese Evening (yes, it’s important that it’s capitalised, and yes, we are middle aged now) at our flat a few weeks ago. We bought oodles of cheese and wine off the internet and Matt wrote a tasting guide to show what went with what. Needless to say it was all very civilised for about an hour and then it was mainly a drunken mess. So much fun though! Makes me really excited to host more events in the future.
Look out for more regular posting resuming this week and let me know what you’ve been up to lately in the comments! If you have an instagram post of your own or I’m not following you then let me know :)
