May was a busy month for me. My 26th came and went with lots of presents and celebrations, and there is now only 3 and a half months to go until the wedding! Where did the time go, eh? I’ve truly started to understand that saying as I get older, time just seems to be running away and come September I’ll be walking up that aisle in a big fancy dress, how surreal. Matt spoilt me, as usual, with a fondue set, Lego, Sharpies and the funniest panda-shaped birthday cake I could’ve dreamed of.
I had an amazing birthday trip away to London with my sister during May that really cemented how much I miss her and how necessary these weekends we spend together are. Living 200+ miles away from family and friends can be difficult sometimes, as much I really love the life I’ve made for myself in Yorkshire. We saw A Chorus Line, which was actually fantastic, and ate like queens all weekend long. I saved before I went and splurged on pastels knits in Topshop and beauty products in Selfridges Skincare Hall, before boarding a train home laden down with macarons and a good book to pass the time.
May really was the month of skincare discovery for me. I’ve always spent a lot of money and effort on taking care of my skin but something just hadn’t been right for the last few months. A life-changing facial (review coming this week) and a few new purchases have me glowing into June and I’m really happy about it.
