The TIGI Catwalk Curlesque collection is a range that hairdressers have used repeatedly on me over the last few years. Why, then, it’s taken me so long to get some to use at home I have no idea. Firstly, I’ll start by saying that I have 2 main concerns when it comes to buying hair products: 1. Volume – my hair is fine and therefore easily falls flat, I like to use volumising products to plump it up a little 2. Curl – my hair naturally falls somewhere between a wave and curl, but because of it’s texture it often looks a little fuzzy. Last time I went to the hairdressers I decided to get rid of the assymetric look I’ve been rocking since I first went for the chop, but for some reason (I think the lack of layers) this left my curls looking a little lacklustre. What used to be curved and bouncy was now just a little wayward and frazzled. Thus, I’ve been on the lookout for a few products to help me get that curl back.
The Tigi Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier* has a cream-gel consistency that is thick but not sticky. You can run it through wet hair to help define and separate your curls, and/or use it on dry hair to tame frizz and add a little hold. I tend to use it when my hair is wet, mixed with a little of my Aussie Curl Defining Serum. I’ve found that it really lifts the natural curl in my hair and helps it to keep that “just blow-dried” look for much longer. I’d say this product definitely makes my hair more sleek with a noticeable shine, without sacrificing on volume. I’d recommend this product for anyone with even the slightly hint of a curl, to add a little extra “oomph” to their look. Obviously though, it is only going to work with what you have – Straight Susans shouldn’t expect this to turn them into Curly Sues, but it does definitely make the best of what you’ve got!
This product tames my barnet, keeping it looking bouncier for longer with no hint of a sticky residue. I would however, encourage you to use this alongside a hairspray as it won’t stop that fresh look from wearing off after a few hours. Look Fantastic were kind enough to gift me this for review but I’ll definitely be repurchasing it when it’s finished. I’m not expecting to have to do this for a while though because I use no more than a splodge the size of my fingernail with each application. Pretty good! This product is by no means my holy grail for hair – that would be a product which left no need for the mousse, serum, hair oil or hairspray I also need to use – but I am pretty happy with it’s curl capabilities. I can honestly say that it improves the look and feel of my hair after washing and for that I’m more than happy to add it to my hair arsenal every morning.
You can buy it today from Look Fantastic for £9.70 which is well below the RRP of £13.50 PLUS you’ll get free shipping. If you buy these kind of brands in-salon you always end up paying well over the odds, so I always look online to save some ££s. Most of the products I use on my hair are salon style brands but I’ve got them all for a fraction of the price! I also have the TIGI Catwalk Curlesque Shampoo and Conditioner, so I’ll be sure to report back on them over the next few weeks.
