This Week

Motto of my life: When in doubt, pull a stupid face.

Apologies for the absence of these posts for a while! Most of you will know, especially if you follow me on Twitter (@teacupblog) that I've made my great move up North. I've been in Leeds for around a week now and it's been lovely so far. I've had plenty of time for exploring and getting to know the area. Luckily for me I'm right in the centre of town so I can get around pretty easily. If you're a Leeds local and you have any recommendations to make to me please let me know either by comment on this post, or by emailing me at lil.teacupblog@gmail.com or via my Twitter.

My "Welcome to Leeds" mezze. I love a mezze.

Having a bit more time on my hands leaves me time for a lot of activities I can't usually dedicate much to, like baking and blogging. This week I've made banana bread, a pineapple upsidedown cake, raspberry milk jelly (gross, but Matt's favourite) along with loads of other savoury dishes for dinner. I'm on a roll and I am loving it. Shopping at Kirkgate Market is a really great way of getting affordable, fresh ingredients from local sources too, so that's my new fave place. Although, I must say, I think I need to develop a bit of a northern twang since my accent has me standing out a mile from all the Yorkshire types up here.

More time for blogging means more posts (have you noticed?) and more time to get my hands on the resources needed - I've been reading tonnes of magazines and I've cleared my google reader for the first time in months. I know this year I've made a lot of empty promises in regard to this place, but it is my number one priority now to give A Storm in a Teacup a bit of TLC and help her grow into the beautiful blog she can be!

As you might have noticed, I've branched out into electronics, film reviews and I've been doing a lot of wishlist posts. These subject areas will all stick around and I have more to add to it. I'm getting so excited about the new season, both on the catwalk and weather wise too and having read this article by Eva Wiseman earlier today, I now feel even more ready for the cuddliness of Autumn!

The coming week should bring more posts about my trip to Hong Kong and Nokia, a round up of the best blogging apps, some new handbags I've been lucky to get my hands on and a workwear wishlist I'm putting together. I would be taking more outfit pics but tbh, since moving in I have been mostly dressed in oversized clothes which make me look like a lesbian decorator.

What's in store for you this week?
