This is the fourth and final piece of my Lush skincare regime reviews. Sorry for the wait - I know it's been a while!
Celestial is a moisturiser designed, like the other products I've reviewed, for those with sensitive skin. When I told the assistant that I'd struggled with dry and flaky, irritable skin since I was 12 or 13, she told me I had a choice. Celestial was my option for soothing irritations - almond milk and dove orchid are apparently great for calming skin and reducing redness. My other choice was Skin Drink, a moisturiser of the same price, but much richer. Skin Drink is made from hydrating sesame, almond and evening primrose oils, mixed with avocado, rose oil and aloe vera. Although it sounded like a dream for sunburn, I don't like anything too rich so I avoided this. Though I would consider buying it to keep on reserve for real skin disasters - sunburn, rashes, dry-outs. Much like with hand cream, I can't handle greasy skin, so while I love my skin to be hydrated and supple, I'd prefer not to slather it in cream unless really desperate. So I went for Celestial.
Celestial is light enough not to make you feel slimey and to be easily absorbed in the morning before you put on your make-up. Your skin still feels like it can breathe. Its not a deep treatment to be saved for nights of hair protein treatments, or after you've rinsed the latest face pack off - Celestial is a reliable, everyday product. You may not see changes over night but with repeated use you could be transformed. I have been. It provides continuous moisture and keeps my skin hydrated and happy, even under the gale force air con we have at work. At the time of purchase my skin was not only dry but itchy and bumpy too. I'm not sure what had caused it, it felt similar to heat rash and I wasn't sure what to do about it. When applied to the skin Celestial felt cooling and light. My skin cleared up within a few days and remained smooth and itch free.
Since using this I've had various compliments on how healthy and radiant my skin looks. My mum, who scrutinises the changes in my complexion and is always buying me lotions and potions to try, has repeatedly told me how clear and happy it looks. The redness in my cheeks has definitely reduced as well and there has been no irritation since I began using it.

Celestial is available for £11.50 for 45g and is completely vegan. Better still if you collect 6 empty pots from any Lush products you can take them instore to be recycled and receive a fresh face mask for free! Wooo hooo! It may seem pricey but in my experience a pot lasts at least two months when moisturising twice a day, and it's honestly the only moisturiser in history that I've repurchased. I love this product, and it smells deeeeelish! I honestly don't know how it could get better, so with that in mind I'd give it 10/10.
Are you a slave to one particular moisturiser or do you chop and change like a skincare nomad? Have you ever tried a Lush face cream?
