I like a scarf.
I have silk scarves for a variety of uses. I wear them in my hair mostly. Occasionally I'll wear one as a belt or tie a pretty vintage one on to a handbag strap. Sometimes, on days like wednesday, I wear one old school style, around the neck, the way my mum would. But with a funky-edgy-cool™twist, obvs. I've previously worn them around the neck and tied with a skinny belt around a jacket. I tried that today but I couldn't find the right belt - am in desperate need of a new black patent one to replace my trusty Primark lovely that broke. So I pinned instead. You can't really see the detail, but I wove the scarf into the lapels of this waterfall style jacket, and secured with a hidden safety pin, along with a vintage fairy brooch that my mum picked me up at a car-boot.
I wore this outfit out on wednesday night to a meeting with Nokia about some new ideas they have. It was lovely to catch up with Jenny and to meet Kit of styleslicker.com and to chat with some of the girls from 1000 Heads and Nokia themselves. We ate dinner at the gorgeous Yauatcha and were really spoilt by a delicious selection of dim sum, some cocktails and a macaron! Nokia have an exciting project up their sleeve and I was interested to hear about it and to offer my feedback. Nokia have also generously offered to loan me one of their phones to trial too, so hopefully that will all get sorted and I'll be sure to let you all know how Nokia and a blogger's lifestyle come together.
I've had a really busy week. Between deadlines (I'm in my 3rd year and therefore final semester), seeing friends, family and Matt, my life feels very hectic at the moment! I'm heading back to Bristol for the weekend tomorrow actually, which will be good because I haven't been back or seen my family since Christmas.
I've been coveting: the colour popping in the new H&M collection, Miu Miu shoes on the catwalk, Britney Spears for V Magazine and this outfit from Keiko Lynn.
What's been keeping you busy lately?
