Sadly, I'm not among the lucky bloggers who have been hitting the shows at London Fashion Week this year, but I have been keeping a close eye on the goings on from behind the screen of my Macbook Pro.
I'm not very fashion weeky myself. I have little interest in designer clothes, always prefering the people around me on the high street to the models walking down the catwalk. However, I always keep a close eye on the collections and I prefer the AW shows to the SS, usually because of the colour palettes, fabrics and the fact that I'm just an all round second-half-of-the-year type girl.
Style.com has been giving thorough and exciting reviews throughout the week, so I've taken some of their photos and made a brief toast to the collections that have been standouts for me.
FELDER FELDER
I love this colour palette more than every other show I've seen pictures from. The blues, greens and blacks, plus the tougher materials like leather paired with feather trims reminded me of peacocks. I like the "edgy" vibe to their prints and fabrics.
PAUL COSTELLOE
This seems to have been one of the stand out collections amongst bloggers. The colours for this collection are absolutely gorgeous, and for me the metallics, silks and wools leave me somewhere between luxury and gaudy - a great place to be!
LOUISE GRAY
This is my slightly wacky choice of the bunch, but though I think the boots are completely HORRID, I love the prints and colours and the geometric feel the dresses have. I thought the make up for this show was outstanding too.
PPQ
As soon as I saw the headgear for the PPQ show I was won over - anything that reminds me of Ghost World is an instant YES. I have a soft spot for tailoring and the structured look of these shifts and pencil skirts really appealed to me. Love the shoes too.
TOPSHOP UNIQUE
Twitter was buzzing with #Unique & #LFW tags when this show went live this afternoon. The feeds talked of everything from Minnie Mouse ears, to Hitler moustaches, to Cruella De Ville. Though the collection is clearly inspired by dalmation print (apparently the accompanying music was 101 Dalmations songs and Elvis' Hound Dog), there wasn't a Nazi insight - except, as Matthew pointed out to me, a possible up there in the top right.
Loved the fabrics in this show and the city skyline shift and red jumpsuit were stand out pieces for me.

So there we have it, just some brief thoughts on what stood out to me. As always for me, it was mostly about colour and prints. I'm looking forward to what comes next.
Did you attend LFW? What shows have stood out for you?
