Monday Round-Up

01. Hello all! I've just rounded off a lovely weekend with my boyfriend. As some of you will know, he lives in Leeds and we travel to each other for weekends whenever we can. We spent a lot of time pottering about, reading books and papers in coffee shops and thinking about what to buy when we move in together (!!) in September, and browsing the foodie paradise that is Borough Market.
02. I've had a gastronomic joyride of a weekend. It started on thursday night when my parents took me out to a local restaurant (Annies) where I had Thai Fishcakes and a beautifully rare lamb burger served to me on a wooden plank with goats cheese and caramelized shallots. Friday I made a meatball sub that I'd found from my last weekend's food blog reading (post here) for me and Matt which was absolutely delightful. After saturday's adventures at Borough Market, Matt used a top side of beef and onion marmalade and pate to make a puff pastry Beef Wellington which was absolutely legendary. Sunday we shared a simple stir fry. Today, however, the big LOVE day, we had a slap up meal at Byron at Westfield. I ate a Byron Burger with red chargrilled peppers, along with sides of chips, onion rings and coleslaw, followed by a Vanilla milkshake. Matt had the same burger as me, without the peppers, and shared my sides. He followed it with an Oreo milkshake which meant he couldn't even talk to or look at me for the 10 minutes in which he consumed it. He said it was very nice. Due to this epic weekend, I've decided I may be eating a little too much red meat and might just eat grilled chicken and salad all week.
03. I'm rather excited about being contacted by Bravissimo earlier this week. You may be aware that several other bloggers have been posting about this, and I'm very excited to be going down to the Oxford Circus branch to have my fitting this week. I'll be back with a full (well, minus photos of me in my underwear - no one needs to see that) report.
04. I've been having a personal issue or two. It's been having an effect on my day to day life and as a result several things have begun to slip! I'm in the process of sorting this and putting things right, so bare with me. Maybe soon I'll feel like I can share what's happening in a way which can give some help to others going through the same thing, so watch this space and you may get some more information. Until then, sorry if my dedication to A Storm In A Teacup seems to be drifting. I'm working on it, and I definitely want to stick with this thing, so please don't desert me!
05. My wardrobe mainly consists of deep reds/cranberries and dark blues at the moment. I can't get enough of the tapered trousers I bought a few weeks ago (post here) and I've been using various vintage scarves I've dug out of a box under my bed as hairpieces. I've also been recycling old handbags in a bid to stop me buying new ones. My fave is a brown leather satchel I bought from Topshop about 2 years ago. Looooooove.
06. Wishlist pieces this week: YSL Arty Ring (yes, I am on the bloody bandwagon), Asos Ribbed Jersey Pencil SkirtNew Look Contrast Smock.

Lots of exciting things happening with you :) Bravissimo is a fab shop. I have such problems getting bra's because I'm a 40 around the back and most ranges only go up to 38. So I can only get plain or ugly bras boohoo! Would love to see if Bravissimo have a better range now, I've not been for a year xx
