A 15 Pan Is A Girl's Best Friend

The beauty bloggers amongst you will think this a little old hat. I'm sorry for that. You no doubt have seen many of these posts before. Bare with me, maybe you can help! I only really discovered the world of make-up properly about a year and a half ago, at the ripe age of 21. However, as soon as I did, my collection double, tripled, boomed out of all control.

MAC Store in Glorietta PhilippinesImage via WikipediaMac especially was a late discovery for me. I couldn't fathom spending that much on an eyeshadow, a lipstick, when I could get one for a third of the price down at Superdrug. Once I made my first purchase however (Style Demon Blush from the Colour Craft collection - post here) it was a downward spiral. I was obsessed. Make up that stayed put all day? Craziness! As a lot of you will probably understand, I couldn't get enough.

My eyeshadow collection grew fast, so I knew I had to start putting together a palette. Along with 7 potted shadows, I have the following 13 shades in my 15 pan.

Shroom: My first light shade bought to use on the brow bone and in the inner corners to make my small eyes bigger.
Brule: Universally wearable beige which is perfect as a base for neutral or more striking looks.
Ricepaper: Warmer base colour I use with golds and browns.
Naked Lunch: A pale pink shimmer. Probably my most used. This is my second pan. Love it.
Goldmine:I save this for special occasions! Great for bold looks paired with Amber Lights, Mythology or Trax.

All That Glitters: My second favourite shade. When I first bought this, I wore it on it own for a long time. Its great for me because I love pinky tones and a bit of shimmer helps my small eyes out.
Mythology: I bought this shade in NYC this summer. So pretty for a day or night time look. I love pairing it with Goldmine or Amber Lights.
Sable: I find browns quiet hard to wear sometimes, because they can easily make my eyes look tiny. I love Sable because it has a purple tone in it which lightens the shade and adds a bit of pop.
Trax: Another new NYC purchase. Haven't worn it much yet, but great for night time looks teamed with oranges and golds.
Cranberry: I LOVE Cranberry. I mainly use it in the socket or as a liner. I often team it with Contrast for a look unlike the others in my repertoire.
Woodwinked: An everyday, lovely light brown with some shimmer. Hard to go wrong with this. Great for neutral looks.
Lucky Green: The MUA recommended this to me in NYC. I've always avoided green before but I've been working this in, teaming it with Naked Lunch or Mythology for something a bit different.
Contrast: The darkest colour in my collection. I usually stay away from blacks etc but I'm an 80s girls at heart so I needed a bit of blue in my palette. I'm looking for a lighter shade to team with it.

I've been traveling around the country a bit recently. What can I say, I'm a busy gal. My boyfriend lives in Leeds and I split my time between Bristol and London so I've had to pack an overnight bag for a few weekends as of late. When I'm traveling, I'm usually too scared to pack my full palette, through fear of loss or theft, so along with the space issue I also face, the 4 pan is the obvious answer for me.
I rotate, but lately I've been getting stuck on the same four shades: Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Mythology & Trax. I find that with these four colours I can create a pretty solid day or night look.
Now, readers, this is where you come in. What shades do you have in your palette? Is it purely MAC or do you use the palettes for other brands too? What are your favourite combos at the moment? Please link me to any post you've made in the past.
I have two spaces left in my 15 pan. What am I to do? Can you recommend me any colours? Tell me of any combinations I haven't tried so far? I have smallish, almond shaped blue eyes, and a fair skin tone. Help me please! I'll keep you all updated on my progress.
A General Blognote: I'm very sorry for my absence of late. Along with having to get through 3 paperbacks a week for my degree course, along with essay writing, research and story writing, I'm jetting up and down the country and trying to reign in some ongoing health problems. Bare with me. I'm trying to get A Storm in a Teacup back up to its old standards!
Lots of love to you all.
