My creative space is important to me. Even my living space has to be filled with visually stimulating things just for me to feel good about getting up and beginning a day. My surroundings can dictate whether I am happy or sad.
I thought I would post a few pics of my room at uni. I've been here since late September and I'd like to think I'm fairly settled in now. My room feels like home and I wouldn't want to change it. Here are the things which fill it:

Here you can see that I like to have books and magazines to flick through when I'm bored, and I have a lot of toys around, like Anouk - my Blythe. and I like a pin board to be more like an inspiration board, less like a practical place to pin reminders. Mine is filled with all sorts of fliers which I've picked up, polaroids, pictures, postcards from the Tate and post-its with quotes on.
It's full of things which make me smile, like the paper crane Trav sent me and this self portrait.

Below we have my bed, the comfiest place in the world. My sheets are from IKEA but my Aunty sewed me a faux fur throw which my flatmates and I curl up in to watch movies and I throw over me when I'm in bed. It keeps me warm cuz I like to sleep with my window open.

Finally, I have a polaroid wall - yes, just like everybody else, and I have Blythe postcards and photos on my wardrobe.

On theselby.com I always find thousands of beautiful homes to lust after. Some perfect places to lock yourself away and draw/write/cut and paste to your hearts content. Here are a few examples I've found from all over the place of places similiar to what I wish to one day call my own! [I can't remember where any of these come from so sorry for the lack of credit!]

What do you guys need in your intimate surroundings? What helps you function on a day-to-day level, and on a creative level too?
